Hey! My name is Cody.
Design History ›
With 10+ years of experience in digital artwork, as well as experience as a video editor/photographer, I've provided my services to businesses and individuals in Chester County, the state of Pennsylvania, the United States, and even overseas.
My main specialty is in logo creation, typographic design, and brand identity. However, my skillset includes business and product photography, as well as some basic video production and editing.
Along with the graphic work I do professionally for various different types of businesses and clients, you can find me using my skills daily just for fun! I constantly love to liven up my home and personal technology with various pieces of art such as desktop and phone wallpapers, wall artwork, etc.
Background and Education ›
Born and grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where I currently am residing today.
In 2017, I completed and was certified in the Commercial and Graphic Arts program at TCHS Brandywine in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.
Later that year, I continued my studies in graphic design at Full Sail University in Orlando Florida, where I graduated with a degree in Digital Art and Design. If you are interested in seeing some of the projects I worked on during my time at Full Sail, you can click the button in the navigation bar above or click here.
Outside of schooling, I started by being self taught in Photoshop and various other photo/video editing software, working with many of these programs for over 10 years now. Even to this day, I continue to further my understanding of the software I've been using as well as new software and techniques in order to bring my clients a stronger and wider variety in the way their business' can look.
JOB EXPERIENCE ›
When I am not working as a Graphic Designer, you might find me working the family business with my father Ted, who is a third-generation funeral director from Delaware County. So if you ever find yourself in such difficult times, you can count on my father, uncles, and cousins who have kept this family business going for 4 generations now. While we don't have a logo or other design assets, I do various maintenance and services on our website, www.ruffenachfuneralhome.com.
Outside of that, I currently work rotating shifts as a Cold Mill production employee at an Aluminum Mill in Lancaster Pennsylvania known as Arconic (formerly Alcoa). My work there is very long, very hot, and very dirty. But it pays the bills, keeps the lights on, and allows me to save and not worry financially. It also pays for the computers and other technology I use as a designer!
Before Arconic, I worked in various different retail jobs after I had graduated Full Sail University. The most recent being an ACE Hardware in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. This is a job I will always remember fondly as I met a lot of great people, learned to really love the communities and towns I grew up around, as well learn and understand what I was truly looking for in my life.
Family + PETS ›
At home I have Samantha, my loving girlfriend of 7 years; Pretzel, my Red Footed Tortoise; and Matcha, Olive, and Bean, my three Australian White's Tree Frogs. Sooner or later, I am sure we will be welcoming a tail wagging friend into the family as well!
When I'm not with them, I'm likely with my younger brother, Zachary, who is a Junior Ice Hockey Player, my parents, my three older (half) brothers, Jeff, Jason, and Eric, or any of the many other family I have between Lancaster and Delaware Counties.
Personality ›
Some hobbies of mine include video games, movies, driving my 1984 Pontiac Fiero, building computers, or learning new Home Repair and DIY skills! My love for learning and home repair almost led to me becoming an Electrician, however I had also received the job offer to work at Arconic, around that time, where I decided to take a chance in the Aluminum industry!
A few of my all time favorite movies include Jurassic Park (1993), Spider-Man (2002), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and Evil Dead II (1987). Along with those films, you can find me watching my favorite genres, science fiction and horror, especially ones from the 1980s.
My favorite video game franchise is Halo, but you will find me playing nearly any video game I get my hands on. In my home, there is a game room where me and Sam have collected nearly every video game console from the last 1980s onward. We also love board games and tabletop games such as Dungeons & Dragons!
And if it wasn't abundantly clear already, I really like the 1980s!
Hopefully, this summary has helped you get to know me.
However, I would love to speak with and get to know you!
